While I was home in NY for Amanda and Luke’s wedding I flipped through photo albums. I couldn’t believe the clothing I wore as a child. It was the 80′s so that is my eternal excuse. I have never claimed to be cool. Ever. I can’t believe I even had friends! Lets have a looksee, shall we? I took photos of photos because that is how I roll.
Clearly I was too young to pick out my outfit in the photo below. Make note of the cat. I have always loved cats.
Here I am, probably 1st or 2nd grade age with yet another cat on my shirt. Mix the cat with polka dots AND stripes and I was the coolest kid in the cafeteria sipping on chocolate milk.
Below was taken on the first day of school, I believe 4th grade. Hey look! A cat on my dress and I’m rockin’ awesome socks. Oh and wearing the backpack on one shoulder was totally the thing to do. I had to get glasses in 3rd grade and they circled down past my nose. If Steve Urkel were a white girl…
Apparently I didn’t wear a cat on my outfit in 5th grade. This was the first day of school and my one-piece jumper was amazing. Flood-length with crisp white shoes. To tone down the busy pattern on the jumper I suppose a granny sweater was a good choice.
I was just as fashionable outside of school. Check out this stunner!
I saved the best for last. Bright polkadot shorts hiked up past my belly button, paired with a pastel cat shirt. I wasn’t wearing all of that padding for rollerblading. I was that accident prone I was forced to wear it daily. Ok, not quite, but my parents did take out extra accidental death insurance on me.
Did YOU love the 80′s?
