Boulder Farmer’s Market

I LOVE Boulder. Every spring-fall they have a farmer’s market on Saturday and the crowds of organic hippies come out by the thousands. There are tons of tents set up with local produce, fresh bread, cheese and other organic foods and drinks.

There is a park along Boulder Creek near the market where people hang out and eat lunch, do yoga or meditate to bring world peace.

We happened to bring Wellesley with us on this particular day. (Coda was at the groomer’s getting his hairs cut). He enjoyed wading in the creek with Bob and he met some other dogs from an animal rescue group along the way.

While Wells was busy playing in the water I went to the market and got some fresh flowers. I love gladiolas! Aren’t they beautiful? They were $.50 per stem.

I also bought zucchini to make Bob zucchini bread and I got him some peaches as well.

I love this market becaue all of the local farmers and chocolatiers take such pride in their foods and it is nice to know where my food is coming from. There is a class at the culinary school where the chef takes the class to the farmer’s market and everybody picks out fresh food, then they go back to the school to make meals with it. The class is called “Farm to Fork”. I’d like to take that-perhaps next year.
