Living Room

Our living room set was delivered this morning. After getting everything in place this room quickly became my favourite room in the whole house. It is finally a reflection of my style and I couldn’t be more pleased with the simplicity of it. I hate knick-nacks and clutter so I try to avoid trinkets as much as possible.

Here is what it looked like when the old owners lived here.

And with a little paint:

I must admit this room is inspired by Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Beth! I have always loved their home and decor. I pulled inspiration from them and my favourite designer, Candice Olson.

This view is looking at the front door. Yikes, I need to paint the door!

I love lamp. This is an acrylic lamp and I loved it because it didn’t have a lamp shade.

We don’t have a closet in the front hallway so I hung a simple hook rack and decorative shelf near the door. Don’t worry, Dad. I found the studs and screwed the hooks into those so it can support 35 lbs.

While I was setting up the living room I heard a ruckus in the kitchen. It sounded like Paco in a cabinet so I opened all of the lower cabinets but couldn’t find him. I assumed I was mistaken. A few minutes later I heard a noise again and went to investigate. Here is what I found:

He must have jumped onto the kitchen counter, on top of the fridge, then opened the cabinet to get in. He is always up to something!
