Standley Lake

A few weekends ago Bob and I headed down to Standley Lake to check out the summer action. The lake is at the end of our neighbourhood and only a .6 mile walk away. Boaters have to pay a hefty registration fee of approximately $800 per year just to access the lake.

There were dozens and dozens of empty trailers in the parking lot, so quite a lot of people use this lake and pay the fees.

One thing that threw me for a loop was… the loop. After having free-reign at Port Bay I thought it was weird to make folks drive in a circle.

I’m pretty sure this wasn’t built for 2 grown adults and 2 children because the back end was nearly completely under water. I think the kids were having fun though because I heard them shouting/ singing ‘John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt”.
