Last weekend Bob and I met up with 3 of his co-workers and their wives/fiances for the Colorado LAX game. First we all went to dinner at Brooklyn’s bar and restaurant a block away from the arena. The food was delicious and it was nice and convenient to where the game was.
We moseyed over to the Pepsi Center arena for the game against the Portland Lumberjax. Colorado scored the first goal and things looked promising from that. I started biting my tongue when the score was 1-12, Colorado losing. Portland’s goalie was just too good and wouldn’t let any shots in, despite Colorado’s offense being good. Towards the end of the game there was no chance of Colorado winning the game, so they started fighting. May as well try to win at something, right?
Despite the home opener loss, the atmosphere was still great. Lots of t-shirt give-aways, gift cards dropping from the blimp, and Bob enjoyed the bikini-clad girls in the hot tub near the corner of the arena. There was even a proposal on the “kiss cam”. During half time they had a bunch of dogs come out for a Fly Ball competition. It was quite entertaining. We hope to make it to many more games this season.
