Weekend & Paco

We had some visitors this weekend- Bob’s friend Paul (former 5th Street Band dude), Paul’s girlfriend Sarah, and their friend Nick. We had them over for some grilled chicken and steaks, drank some beer and wine and played some Wii games. It was nice having company for a bit.

Bob and I saw the new Pixar movie Wall-E tonight. We thought it was great- very cute and funny. We were that couple that stayed through the credits because we met a guy that works at Pixar studios and we wanted to see his name on the screen.

Also, we’re excited to add Paco to our home in mid-August. Until then, my sister is going to watch him and take care of him and teach him how to walk on a leash just like Lola so we can still go on family walks. He’s about 6 weeks old now. Here is Aunt Amanda taking care of him:

Coda is getting excited to have someone new to play with. He is lonely since he doesn’t have Lola to sniff and harass her when she sets foot in the living room.

Our condo!

Finally got new carpet in so I was able to finish unpacking everything and get our place in order enough to take pictures. Check out the pictures by clicking on the photo below.

We have a guest room so come visit!

My Lola

We have some sad news tonight…Lola passed away. I was in the shower and didn’t know what was going on. I got out and Bob was calling my cell and told me to meet him at the animal hospital. He heard her meow loudly a few times and went to check on her and she gasped a few times and stopped breathing. She was pretty much gone right away and the doctor couldn’t do anything else to help her. The vet said it was probably heart disease which created a pulmonary clot, so she went quickly. She was only a year and a half young. She made us laugh a lot (and anyone that saw us taking a cat for a walk). Coda is sad because he won’t have anyone to harass and chase rabbits with anymore.

Not to replace her so quickly, but my Aunt’s cat had kittens 5 weeks ago and I can have one of the males that is left. Bob already decided to name him Paco, so Paco it is. Hopefully he can fly back to Denver with me in August. Coda needs another friend.

I love my Lola. (And so did Bob.)

Who takes a cat for a walk?

We do! Lola decided to start sitting at the front door every night practically begging to go out. I get her leash, and Bob gets Coda’s leash, and we head out for a family walk! Lola sniffs a lot and eats grass and is generally slow and tries to enjoy her time outside. Coda is a lot more ambitious and wants to get anywhere else fast. When Lola is being slow, Coda will walk behind her with his nose nudging her along to force her to move. They both love to chase the rabbits around here. Bob and I walk around the building in opposite directions so the pets corner the rabbits and get to chase them. I’m pretty sure Lola is part dog.
